Why is a bunch of Belgians playing black music? Answer Is: that's what music was about in the XXth century. From jazz to rock to rap, it became part of any European's musical background. At least we credit our sources (quite close to the roots): Cuban son and rumba, trinidadian calypso, portorican plena, blues-connected jazz and- last but not least- haitian rara. The result is a particular blend ( say original would sound presomptuous, even though most of the repertoire consists in original compositions). La Nouvelle Flibuste was also the first ( and only so far) band to be invited to participate in the Carnaval de Jacmel and the Holy Week in Leogane , two very exclusive cultural events in Haïti.
